Talented Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has joined Sky Bet Championship leaders Brighton on loan until the end of the season, it has been confirmed.

The 21-year-old Gunners talent has seen his first-team opportunities at Arsenal significantly limited as the England Under-21 international has so far made only one start and nine substitute appearances for Arsene Wenger’s team.

The French manager holds the striker in high regard however and has sanctioned another loan spell to aid Akpom’s development.

The host of Championship clubs have registered interest in Arsenal starlet Chuba Akpom, who could be allowed to leave on loan during January transfer window in order to regain fitness after injury.

the England Under-21 international has been hit with a couple of injuries this season and could use regular playing time in the second part of the season to help him restore his form and physicality.

Akpom last appeared for Arsenal in the EFL Cup match against Nottingham Forest, but the latest back problem ruled him out of action for three months.

Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom is widely expected to leave the Emirates in the January transfer window, according to The Times, as he looks to secure regular playing time.

The 21-year-old hasn’t made a single Premier League appearance for the club this season, and he only featured in the 4-0 EFL Cup triumph over Nottingham Forest.

The three outings he made for the Under-23 side are enough to suggest Akpom is no longer in the first team plans of Arsene Wenger and he looks set to leave on temporary basis.

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom could be set for a January move away from the North London club, according to reports.

The 21-year-old is close to returning to action following a back injury he suffered back in September, but the Mirror reports that Arsene Wenger is contemplating an option to send his striker out on loan in order to help him gain valuable first-team experience.

Akpom has made only one senior appearance for the Gunners this term, taking part in Arsenal’s 4-0 League Cup win over Nottingham Forest and is likely to find it hard to break into the first-team fold.

Arsenal enduring something of an injury crisis 0

With Hector Bellerin the latest Arsenal player to pick up an injury on international duty, the Gunners are losing a number of key players ahead of their trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on November 19. Alexis Sanchez was a doubt with a knock but the Chilean is now expected to return if treated well. However, Arsenal are still six first-team players short.

Héctor Bellerín (ankle), Lucas Pérez (ankle), Chuba Akpom (back), Per Mertesacker (knee), Danny Welbeck (meniscus) and Santi Cazorla (achilles) are the current absentees. The international break will present Bellerin and Cazorla a chance to return in time for the Manchester United clash, but they are the only two close to featuring this month.

Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom is unlikely to play any part in the remainder of the year as his back injury appears to be more serious than first feared, according to a report in the Independent.

The 21-year-old returned to the Emirates in the summer after a somewhat successful spell at Hull City and he was hoping to gain some first team minutes in the EFL Cup and FA Cup this season.

Akpom made his first appearance of the season in the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest a month ago, but he then suffered a back problem at the end of September.

Arsenal’s young striker Chuba Akpom has revealed that he would play in goal if it meant playing more minutes for the Gunners first team.

I doubt Petr Cech or David Ospina’s positions as Arsenal first-choice goalkeepers are under threat, but it’s obvious the youngster wants more first-team football this season.

Akpom made his first start of the campaign in Tuesday night’s 4-0 EFL Cup win against Nottingham Forest, playing in an unfamiliar left-wing position. Talking about the game he told the Arsenal website: ‘I think right now I’d play anywhere,’

Chuba Akpom staking a claim to spearhead the attack ahead of the new season 1

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom scored in the side’s 3-2 pre-season friendly win over Manchester City, and has now netted in four consecutive games for the Gunners this summer. The England U21 international spent last season on loan at Hull City, but has really staked a claim to lead the line for Arsenal given his form and the side’s recent attacking woes.

With Olivier Giroud being given a late summer holiday after Euro 2016 with France, while Danny Welbeck has been ruled out until 2017 through injury, Arsenal are short on natural strikers. Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez are capable of playing as makeshift centre-forwards, but Akpom has done all he can do to give manager Arsene Wenger a selection headache.

Viking Stavanger not a bad run out for Arsenal 0

An 8-0 win over Norwegian opposition is not always a great yard stick to how players are going to do in the heat of Premier League battle. However, the Gunners hefty victory over Viking Stavanger on Friday night will have given Arsene Wenger food for thought.

Mainly because a number of the Gunners first players did not feature and a few of the fringe players, particularly Costa Rican winger Joel Campbell excelled.

A satisfying 90 minutes

The likes of Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud were missing for the Gunners as they recover from summer international exertions.
