Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger offloaded the Turkish midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup back in 2012 without ever giving him a proper chance to prove himself with the first team.

The 25-year-old Turkey international born in Netherlands started his career with AZ in 2005 before moving to London three years later.

Ozyakup spent four years with Arsenal as a youth prospect but Arsene Wenger opted against including him in the first team and sold him to Besiktas for mere £400,000 in 2012.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal are interested in Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan and could make an official approach before the summer transfer window shuts. The Gunners have been desperate for more creativity in the side and the 27-year-old could be value for money at £9.5m.

Arslan made 30 Super Lig appearances for Besiktas last season, making five assists. He operates as a central midfielder and could well replace the injured Santi Cazorla is Arsenal were to lodge a bid. The Gunners have been short on creative midfield quality and have little in the way of real depth – Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny are more defensive options.

According to ESPN, Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas are interested in Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina, but may be put off by his apparent lofty asking price. The Gunners signed the Colombian shot-stopper for £3M from OGC Nice in 2014, but he’s struggled to hold down a starting place despite satisfactory performances for the Londoners.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman recently spoke out on the rumours and admitted there has been interest from their end. However, he also revealed Besiktas were being price out of a move for Ospina, saying: “I do want Ospina and we are going to get a foreign keeper. (But) Arsenal want a lot for him so we may have to look for alternatives.”

According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy could be on his way to Besiktas this summer. The French international was frozen out of the Arsenal first-team last season, struggling with fitness and form since his switch from Newcastle United, and spent the second-half of the campaign on loan with French club Girondins de Bordeaux.

Debuchy made just two Premier League appearances for Arsenal in 2015/16, and he’s expected out of the Emirates this summer as a result. The rise of Hector Bellerin in the right-back slot has meant Debuchy’s been on the periphery for some time, and his search for regular appearances could force him to leave.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal ‘keeper David Ospina is close to completing a £3.5 million move to Turkish champions Besiktas, with the Colombian international hoping to move away from the Emirates this summer in order to play regular first team football.

Ospina has also reportedly attracted interest from Premier League rivals Everton, but it seems the Turkish side are favourites to sign the Colombian international.

Never going to play in front of Petr Cech

Ospina is clear second choice ‘keeper behind Cech and is unlikely to become first choice ahead of the Czech in the near future, which was probably obvious last summer, but the former-Nice ‘keeper decided to stay with the north London club.

Following their failed January bid to land Arsenal shot stopper David Ospina, Turkey giants Besiktas are ready to return for the Colombian international.

The 27-year-old was linked with a move away from the Emirates during the winter transfer window, but seeing that Wojciech Szczesny left Arsenal for a loan deal with AS Roma, Gunners were not too keen on losing the valuable squad member which would have left Petr Cech with Matt Macey as his only replacement.
