Arsenal travels to St Mary’s to face Southampton on Sunday lunchtime, as the Gunners look to return to the Premier League’s top-four.

The home side are enduring an inconsistent campaign so far. The Saints are currently 11th in the Premier League after collecting just 17 points so far this season.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s side have won just one of their last six games in the top-flight while losing three of their last five Premier League outings. Last time out, the team from the south coast drew 1-1 with rivals Bournemouth.

Arsenal rounded-off their Europa League group campaign with a 6-0 hammering of Belarussian side BATE Borisov at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

The Gunners came close to opening the scoring as early as the fifth minute. Olivier Giroud teed the ball up for Mohamed Elneny 20 yards from goal. The midfielder’s effort skidded off the surface and skimmed the outside of the post.

The visitors threatened Ospina’s goal for the first-time three minutes later, as Ivanic’s effort from around 20 yards out went just over the bar.

No competitive edge and no pressure.

That’s the easiest way to describe the forthcoming Europa League clash at the Emirates between Arsenal and BATE Borisov.

Having already secured top spot in their group with one game to spare, Gunners welcome the Belarusian team in this dead rubber in London that still is a fine chance for a quality run out.

Arsene Wenger is expected to rotate heavily with the likes of Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock and Ainsley Maitland-Niles all pushing for a starting berth.
