While it’s been official for the last few weeks, now, nobody can deny it – Arsene Wenger is no longer the manager of Arsenal Football Club (or at least, he won’t be in a few days time in an official capacity). The Frenchman has spent 22 long years in North London with the Gunners, and he managed to conclude his tenure in a familiar fashion: by picking up three points.
Courtesy of their defeat against Leicester City last night, Arsenal are still without a point away from home in 2018. In case you haven’t checked your calendar lately, it’s May, and in case you’re curious, the Gunners are the only team in the entire English football league system to possess an away record as poor as that this year. Some will call that baffling, but as the games have gone on, it makes all the sense in the world.
