Arsenal recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Danny Welbeck grabbing a brace and Alexandre Lacazette also getting on the scoresheet.

The Gunners took the lead on six minutes with the first real attempt on goal of the game. Sead Kolasinac crossed and found Danny Welbeck, whose effort off the shoulder wrong-footed Asmir Begovic in the Bournemouth goal.

The home side had the next attempt on goal on 13 minutes. Kolasinac strode forward again but lost the ball. The ball then broke for Granit Xhaka 30 yards out and the Swiss star saw a first-time effort parried by Begovic.

Arsenal claimed a 3-0 victory over Stoke on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium, with Alexis Sanchez again the star of the show grabbing two goals and an assist.

The first attempt of the game arrived after just two minutes Alexis Sanchez picked-up the ball just inside the Stoke area and tried to curl a low effort past Asmir Begovic, only for the Bosnian to get down well and produce a good save.

The big keeper was in action again on five minutes. Tomas Rosicky surged into the Arsenal box and saw a low shot superbly tipped wide of goal. There was nothing he could do to deny the Gunners the lead on six minutes though.

Arsenal’s winning run came to an end at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon, as Stoke secured a 3-2 victory over the Gunners. To add insult to injury Arsenal also finished the game with ten men as Calum Chambers was dismissed.

Arsenal endured a nightmare start, as the home side took the lead after just 19 seconds. Young full-back Hector Bellerin failed to deal with Steven N’Zonzi’s cross and Peter Crouch was on hand to slot home.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering a summer bid for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic as he plans to sign a new shot-stopper to challenge current number one Wojciech Szczesny for a starting berth.

The Pole is likely to remain the only high-profile goalie in the squad with Lukasz Fabianski’s contract due to expire and Emiliano Viviano also expected to leave the Emirates this summer.

And while Wenger is believed to be happy with the standard of Szczesny’s performances this season, he is eager to sign another quality goalkeeper who would increase competition for the number one spot.

Does Arsenal really need another goalkeeper? 1

Last night Wojciech Szczesny played in goal in Poland’s 2-0 away defeat against England in a World Cup qualifier. Despite conceding two goals the young Arsenal keeper pulled-off some decent saves and came out of the game with some credit.

Saves

Szczesny kept the score down to respectable figure at times. He produced a number of fantastic saves that kept his side in with a fighting chance, until the 88th minute when Steven Gerrard poked home England’s second goal.

Szczesny was only playing for the Poles because Southampton’s in-form Artur Boruc was injured. The young Arsenal stopper certainly did his chances of becoming Poland number one no harm with his display at Wembley.

Stoke chairman Peter Coates has all but confirmed speculations linking star goalkeeper Asmir Begovic with a move away from Britannia Stadium.

The Bosnian has become one of the most sought-after players in England, and he has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in the past.

And while the Potters are reluctant to let him go, they will not stand in the player’s way should he decide to leave for greener pastures.

“We would be reluctant to sell him because you want to keep your best players but you have to be realistic about things,” Stoke president Peter Coates said.

Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League with a 3-1 win over Stoke at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. England winger Theo Walcott had to withdraw from the team late through illness and was replaced by young German Serge Gnabry.

Record signing Mesut Ozil made his home debut and had a hand in the Gunners opening goal on five minutes.

Jack Wilshere was fouled by Charlie Adam 25 yards out. Ozil’s free-kick was parried by Potters keeper Asmir Begovic, only for in-form Aaron Ramsey to fire home the rebound. The Gunners looked comfortable and passed the ball around with Ozil central to their play.
