The Gunners have been keen on the 26-year-old for most of the summer, but have seen the likes of Barcelona and AS Roma edge themselves ahead, with the latter making an official bid for the Nice midfielder. Latest reports say the duo are no longer in the running.

Seri made 34 Ligue 1 appearances last season, contributing 16 goals. He’s said to have a £36m release clause, a price Arsenal don’t appear keen to match, but the Londoners do have a need for a creative midfielder given Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere are currently out injured.
