Some encouraging transfer reports are coming from Turkey in relation to Arsenal’s long-term target Arda Turan.

The Turkish playmaker is reportedly set to be offloaded by Barcelona in what is expected to be a summer overhaul at the Spanish club and the Gunners are prepared to take advantage of such a development.

The Catalans have been kicked out of the Champions League quarterfinals at the hands of Juventus and are heading toward what is likely to become a rather disappointing closure to the season.

According to Goal, Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan will remain at the Nou Camp, as per his agent Ahmed Bulut: “No, I haven’t heard anything from Arsenal. Arda will be staying at Barcelona.” The former Atletico Madrid man ensured a difficult debut season with the Catalans and found himself largely on the periphery.

The 29-year-old made 18 league appearances for Barcelona last season, but racked up just 816 minutes (45 minutes per game). Turan was either brought off early in the second-half of games he started, or introduced late in the second-half from the bench. Nevertheless, he doesn’t appear keen for an exit this summer.
