Arsenal recorded a creditable 1-1 draw with PSG at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night, with Alexis Sanchez grabbing a second half equaliser following Edinson Cavani’s early first half strike.

Arsenal made the worst possible start by conceding in the first minute. Serge Aurier produced a superb cross to find Edinson Cavani in space and the Uruguayan international head into the bottom corner of David Ospina’s goal.

PSG came forward again on ten minutes. Angel Di Maria back-heeled the ball to put Adrien Rabiot into the penalty area, only for Laurent Koscielny to make a good block. PSG nearly got lucky on 13 minutes, as Di Maria’s inswinging corner was tipped over by Ospina.

According to the Metro, reported Arsenal target Pedro is now being chased by the Gunners Premier League rivals Manchester United, who are reportedly set to bid £20million for the forward.

The 27-year-old had been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past few weeks, despite having just recently signed a new contract with European champions Barcelona. The Gunners are believed to be looking for extra firepower for next season and could be interested in signing the Spaniard.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal could make a shock move for Manchester United and Argentina playmaker Angel Di Maria this summer. The Mail claim that Di Maria’s future at Old Trafford is in major doubt this summer.

Arsenal making a move for the former-Real Madrid seems like a strange move considering the amount of attacking midfielders already at the club from north London.

However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to have made two previous failed moves for the Argentine in the past. Di Maria is on a massive £280,000 per week contract at Old Trafford and that would break the Gunners wage structure.

Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The first meaningful attempt on goal came on 19 minutes, as United midfielder Marouane Fellaini received the ball in the Arsenal area and calmly played in winger Ashley Young, who on the stretch fired over the bar.

Just a few seconds later and it was the Gunners who had a chance. Midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain strode into the United box, but chipped the ball harmlessly over with an effort that was neither a cross or a shoot in the end.

Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, with an own goal from Kieran Gibbs and a Wayne Rooney goal enough to clinch maximum points for the Red Devils. Substitute Olivier Giroud scored a goal in stoppage-time, but the strike meant very little in the end.

The first attempt on goal came on five minutes, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain played in Danny Welbeck, but the former-United striker saw his effort deflected wide by centre-back Paddy McNair. Per Mertesacker then headed well wide of goal from the resulting corner kick.

The Red Devils face all sorts of problems ahead of the weekend’s clash with the Gunners, as a host of first team players are either out injured or doubtful for the high-profile fixture.

Marquee signing Angel di Maria has suffered a foot injury while playing for Argentina against Portugal, but the highly rated footballer believes he will be fit to face Arsenal.

Real Madrid midfielder Angel di Maria has dropped a shock hint that he could leave the club this summer, adding fuel to speculations linking him with a move to the Emirates.

The Argentine had been repeatedly linked with a Santiago Bernabeu exit over the last year or so, but it was believed he would remain with los Blancos after finally nailing down a regular starting berth.

Angel di Maria played a key role in helping Real Madrid win the Champions League and Copa del Rey trophies, and he was especially impressive in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid at Estadio da Luz.

Arsenal targeting Spanish based targets 1

The Daily Mirror claims that Arsenal has had a bid of around £9million rejected for Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran. The 29-year-old Spanish international has enjoyed an impressive campaign, as Atleti reached the Champions League final and won La Liga.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a new right-back after first choice Bacary Sagna revealed that he will leave the Emirates when his contract expires.

Juanfran was part of an Atletico defence that had the best defensive record in La Liga last season. He has attracted the interest of clubs elsewhere, but it seems that the former-winger wishes to remain in the Spanish capital with the Spanish champions.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he won’t be speaking about potential transfers for players – citing how he doesn’t want to give supporters false hope, or risk upsetting the harmony in the squad.

Real Madrid left-winger Angel Di Maria has been linked with the London outfit as Tottenham forward Gareth Bale looks to be joining the La Liga side and will subsequently replace the Argentine international.

Newcastle’s deep-lying playmaker Yohan Cabaye is also said to be a transfer target for the Gunners – who have already made a failed £10M bid.

Arsenal targeting Real Madrid duo Benzema and Di Maria 0

Arsenal’s ongoing pursuit of a big-name summer signing has now led them to Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and winger Angel Di Maria.

According to BBC Sport, the Gunners are willing to part with £40M in order to procure Benzema’s signature.

However, many feel it’s yet another fruitless endeavour, as Real Madrid will be left without any senior strikers in the side should Benzema be sold this summer.

Until Real Madrid enter the market for a new striker, it’s very unlikely the France international will be joining the Premier League outfit.
