With less than a week before the transfer window closes Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he may make a late move in the transfer market to strengthen his squad, after making just one signing this summer in the shape of ‘keeper Petr Cech.
Asked at his press conference on Thursday if he was confident of making more signings, the veteran French boss said: “At the moment, I cannot say I am very confident because we are not close to signing anybody.
“I don’t know because I am always confident that a last-minute situation or solution is available, because the transfer market is especially moving in the last four or five days.
Russian squad Zenit St. Petersburg is hoping to bring Andrey Arshavin back in the summer when the star is likely to leave the Gunners and travel away from the Emirates Stadium.
Although a host of clubs are trailing him including PSG and Anzhi, Zenit don’t give up hope just yet holding on to the Russian’s love statements for the club which allowed him to move to Arsenal and fulfill his dreams .
“Arshavin would interest us in terms of having him on loan,”, Zenit general director Maxim Mitrofanov said
