Arsenal forward Lucas Perez is expected to be on his way out this summer, with two clubs from the Spanish La Liga believed to be keen in his signature. The 28-year-old hasn’t even been at the Emirates Stadium for a year but is seeking a move as a result of a lack of playing time in his maiden campaign.
According to the Mirror, former side Deportivo La Coruna and Sevilla are both interested in Perez who asked for an exit after his £17m move didn’t go to plan. He was brought to the club late last summer and ended up scoring an impressive seven goals in 400 minutes of football in all competitions.
However, game time alluded him throughout the campaign and he suffered a season-ended injury in March. Perez was alleged to have told Arsenal his desire to leave the club and the player’s agent confirmed the news of interest from the aforementioned duo.
“The key date is 3 July when Arsenal’s pre-season begins. Anything is possible -the president of Deportivo can do wonders while last year I met with Sevilla, who again are interested,” said representative Rodrigo Fernandez to Radio Galega. Perez is expected to be one of a number of players sold this summer as a result, but his asking price is currently unknown.
