Patrick Viera has some advice for his former club Arsenal with the side in need in inconsistent form yeat again this season, and both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil featuring heavily in his thoughts on Arsene Wenger’s side that have been floundering recently.
Arsenal battled to an incredibly exciting 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Friday as they followed up their important 1-0 win over Newcastle with a point. It was a marked improvement on their last Premier League game with Jurgen Klopp’s men, who dismantled the London side in a 4-0 win.
However, some have questioned how they let themselves fall two goals behind at home, with others saying that they let all of their hard work go unrewarded as they conceded a third goal to tie things up.
It is clear that there are both positives and negatives from the game, much like there has been throughout the entirety of the season for the club. Former-club legend Patrick Viera had some advice for the side too, as he told Sky Sports: “When you look at the Arsenal team in the last few years I think everybody expects more because of what this football club represents. The current years, of course, are not good enough; it’s not good for the club, for the fans”.
“When you win you want to keep winning and there are players who have to make a decision about what they want to do in the future – I think that is the first thing they need to resolve”.
“And then, bring quality players to challenge Manchester City because I believe Manchester City will be the team to beat in the years to come. When you look at the way they play the game, you don’t have to especially be a City fan to enjoy it”.
It is clear that Arsenal have a number of problems at the club that need to be resolved, with Viera citing that there are players there that need to make a decision, with Ozil and Sanchez surely the subject of this.
Arsenal were once a club that challenged at the top and won trophies, but that seems to have almost completely conceded this ability, with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea someway ahead of them in recent years.
