Arsenal target Nabil Fekir has admitted that he dreams of playing for a big Premier League club, which has put the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal on high-alert, with the latter reportedly a long time admirer of the young French forward.
Arsenal were forced to grind out a 1-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday as they finally got back to winning ways. Their loss to Manchester United and subsequent draws with Southampton and West Ham had threatened to derail the London side’s campaign, but the victory has gotten them back on the right track.
The win has helped Arsenal onto 33 points, one clear of Burnley and two ahead of Tottenham, and while they fell behind Liverpool who beat Bournemouth on Sunday, the victory has allowed the Gunners to get back into the fight for a Champions League spot which will please the fans hugely.
With a place in Europe’s premier competition in their sights, Arsenal need to continue to add to their team as they look to improve their chances of fighting both domestically and abroad next season. With this in mind, the side have been linked with a number of players, with Nabil Fekir one of them.
When asked about his favourite leagues, Fekir told Telefoot: “Spain, with Real [Madrid], Barcelona & Atletico who are the big clubs. After that there is England: Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal. I don’t have a specific club”.
“Is this my last season at Lyon? I don’t know what the future holds for me. I’ve still got two years left on my contract. So, I’m still Lyonnais”.
Of course, it sounds as though Fekir perceives the three Spanish clubs as the biggest, but he may yet be swayed by the chance to rejoin former-teammate Alexandre Lacazette, who has been enjoying a decent start to his time in England.
