Germany international Mesut Ozil missed recent matches with FC Koln and Chelsea with Arsene Wenger offering little information as to the reason for his absence.
The World Cup winner offered explanation himself by posting a photo on his Instagram account on Tuesday night revealing he had suffered a minor inflammation to his knee.
Having missed the 3-1 Europa League win over Bundesliga side FC Koln and Gunners’ goalless draw with Premier League champions, Ozil is now back in training.
“Feeling better each day now and hope to be back playing very soon”, Mesut Ozil wrote in the photo description.
Arsenal playmaker has been involved in every minute of Arsenal’s Premier League campaign up to the point of his injury. His unexplained absence provided plenty of questions with Arsene Wenger offering few to none information regarding Ozil’s injury last week.
The Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday comes too soon for the 28-year-old playmaker who could be back in contention for Gunners’ home game against West Bromwich Albion the following Monday.
His return will come as good news for Arsenal as the north London giants prepare to play two games in just a week’s time prior to the October international break.
