Arsenal fans were licking their lips over the prospect of Luis Suarez joining the side this summer, but their joy was soon ended after Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers adamantly stated he wasn’t for sale. However, the striker has revealed in recent interviews how he wants out of the Merseyside club.
In the recent interview, he added how Liverpool should honour his agreement to leave the side as they failed in their quest to reach the Champions League. Suarez was promised he could join a side that will be featuring in the prestigious European tournament next season, which could now see Arsenal make a further approach to sign him this summer.
Last season, the Uruguayan international scored 30 goals in 44 games for Liverpool. Arsenal failed with their recent £40M+£1 bid for the striker, but are now firm favourites to procure his signature.
While his asking price is around the £50M mark, Liverpool no longer have the ball in their court over his future. Suarez wants to leave this summer, and has publicly told the Merseyside outfit to honour his desire.
This has been the news Arsenal fans have been waiting for, and the news Liverpool fans have been dreading for weeks. But can the two sides thrash out a deal?
