Lucas Moura’s agent is reportedly in talks with Arsenal, despite the player supposedly agreeing to move to Premier League rivals Tottenham in a deal believed to be worth around £25 million.
Arsenal were given the weekend off as the FA Cup returned. The London side had been knocked out by Nottingham Forest in the last round in an embarrassing defeat as they relinquished their hold on the trophy.
They were instead forced to watch their Premier League counterparts in action, with former player Alexis Sanchez turning out for Manchester United. The Chilean had clinched a switch to Jose Mourinho’s team earlier in the week after a protracted move, and he marked his debut with the club by helping them to a comfortable win.
Since the forward’s departure, Arsenal have been looking for replacements, with Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang touted as a potential target. However, it has emerged that Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura is supposedly in talks to sign for Arsenal despite apparently agreeing to a £25 million move to Tottenham.
L’Equipe have claimed that Tottenham have agreed a deal in the region of £25 million for Lucas, but his agent is apparently still in talks with Arsenal.
While this could just be noise, Lucas’ arrival would see Arsenal’s frontline strengthened, with the skilful winger potentially going some way towards replacing Sanchez.
