The Independent has suggested that Arsenal playmaker Jack Wilshere will be on the list when Gareth Southgate announces his squad for March friendlies.
The Three Lions will face Netherlands and Italy as they continue preparations for the 2018 World Cup finals, with the manager set to reveal his squad in the coming hours.
And while Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is set to miss out with an ankle injury, recent reports suggest that Arsenal hotshot Jack Wilshere is set for a recall.
The 26-year-old last represented England at the Euro 2016 finals, while he was also called for World Cup qualifier vs Scotland and international friendly against Spain in November 2016.
Wilshere has been in fine form this season, first impressing in Europa League before also performing well on domestic stage, amassing 17 Premier League appearances.
The highly rated midfielder has clearly benefited from regular playing time at Bournemouth and Arsenal, and he didn’t need long to rediscover his form.
With England manager Gareth Southgate not exactly spoilt for options in the middle of the park, chances are Wilshere will be given a chance to prove his worth in matches vs Netherlands and Italy, and at the same time stake his claim for a place in the 2018 World Cup squad.
