Arsenal and Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a January transfer business that would involve a couple of players changing places in English and Spanish capitals.
Arsene Wenger is said to have stepped up his efforts to sign the Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez this winter, while Los Blanco on their own part are thinking about Alexis Sanchez.
Real Madrid forward Lucas Vasquez has only made five La Liga starts this term and is said to be growing frustrated with lack of playing time at Santiago Bernabeu. Arsene Wenger is reportedly a huge admirer of the 26-year-old’s speed and agility with Spanish media outlet Don Balon suggesting that Gunners boss is ‘willing to do anything’ to seal the deal for Vasquez.
That ‘anything’ could involve sending Alexis Sanchez over to Madrid in a direct player-for-player swap between the two clubs.
The Chilean international has long been linked with a move away from north London and was on the verge of a Manchester City move last August when Citizens failed in transfer deadline day attempt to bring Sanchez to Etihad.
Wenger appears to have made peace with the fact he won’t be able to hold on to the Chilean for much longer but would rather see him move abroad than bolster Premier League rivals.
Sanchez’s contract expires at the end of the season but Real Madrid have surprisingly emerged as a potential destination for former Barcelona man. Aforementioned Don Balon also writes that Sanchez is keen on La Liga return and would consider moving to Real Madrid during winter.
Los Blancos are looking for attacking reinforcements this January and have also been linked with a move for Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi.
