Arsenal lock horns with already-relegated Aston Villa in their final Premier League clash this weekend, and while the Gunners could still have a top-two finish to fight for, manager Arsene Wenger might use the opportunity to name fringe players in the side who haven’t heavily featured on Sunday.
The likes of David Ospina, Calum Chambers, Mikel Arteta and Joel Campbell might be given minutes after being completely unused in the second-half of the season, and a select few of the fringe players may be given a farewell ahead of a summer exit.
Arsenal are coming off the back of two wins and two draws from their last four Premier League games, and face an Aston Villa side barely playing for pride after their relegation to the Championship. The Midlands outfit have a poor recent record against Arsenal and could well struggle as a result.
With the Gunners expected to comfortably come out on top, there’s little reason why Wenger won’t allow his players a good send-off. There’s a lot of talent in the Arsenal side that can’t get game time, and it would be a nice farewell to the departing stars to allow them a momentum in from of their supporters.
Arsenal are 1/6 to win against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon. Could Arsene Wenger introduce some fringe players for this weekend’s clash?
