According to Don Balon via the Express, Barcelona are weighing up whether or not to re-sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal this summer, with Brazilian forward Neymar close to completing a €222m deal with Paris Saint-Germain. The Catalans are targeting a credible replacement and Sanchez might be the best on the market ahead of the new season.

The 28-year-old scored 31 goals and made 13 assists for the Gunners last season, helping Arsenal to their third FA Cup in four seasons. However, they finished outside of the Premier League top-four and Sanchez has spoken out about his desire to compete in the Champions League. It’s believed he wants to leave this summer but his exit hopes have been dashed by manager Arsene Wenger.

The 28-year-old Spanish striker endured a torrid time in London over the past season. Having joined Arsenal in August 2016 for a transfer fee believed to be in excess of €20 million, Lucas Perez struggled to hold down a starting place at the Gunners.

The Spaniard found his opportunities limited having started only two Premier League matches throughout the season and is believed to be looking for a way out of Arsenal in order to kick-start his career.
