As reported on Daily Mail, Real Sociedad forward Carlos Vela has revealed he could well make a return to the Emirates this summer if Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger triggers his buy-back option.
‘One possibility is my clause of €30million (£24.6m), but Arsenal can come back for me at €4million (£3.3m) at any time. I look at things differently these days and I won’t close the door on Arsenal, or any team in England. I think I’m better prepared to play in another country now.’
He added how he’s matured since his early days at Arsenal, which saw him struggle for goals and form – scoring just 11 times in 62 games.
Vela, 25, left the Gunners to join Sociedad in 2011 and has shone in Spain ever since. This season, he’s scored 14 goals and made 11 assists in 34 league games. The Mexican international has bagged 45 goals in 123 matches and is enjoying the best form of his career.
With Wenger having said he won’t spend a lot of money to procure signings this summer, the chance to bring an in-form Carlos Vela back to the club where he spent six years for just £3.3M is something the Arsenal manager could well consider.
Would bringing Carlos Vela back be a good idea for next season?
