Arsenal have been able to arrest their recent slump with a string of very impressive wins that has seen pressure relieved on both the team and the manager.
Wins over Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League, Everton in the Premier League and Norwich in the Carabao Cup have allowed the London side to maintain their challenges in all three competitions, while it has banished the memory of their awful 2-1 loss to Watford the week before.
The Gunners are now turning their attention to their Premier League match with Swansea, which is a must win.
The Welsh side currently sit in 15th place in the league with eight points following a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City. While the Gunners have had some problems in the past against Swansea, they simply must beat Paul Clement’s men if they are to keep their title hopes alive.
While many players that started in Arsenal’s win over Norwich would hope they have done enough to get a place in the squad for the weekend, one man that this seems unlikely for is Theo Walcott.
The winger has primarily been used in the Europa League and League Cup, with his Premier League time curtailed. Former-Arsenal legend Ian Wright admitted it might be time for the forward to leave for pastures new, but Wenger disagreed with the comments.
As reported by talkSPORT, the manager said: “I do not want Theo to move on. His time in the Premier League will come. At the moment he has got less minutes in the Premier League than other competitions”.
With Arsenal’s forwards beginning to fire again, Walcott’s playing time will be reduced, but he will know that there will come a time when the club needs him.
