Arsene Wenger has told Theo Walcott that he can leave Arsenal in the January transfer window with the forward struggling massively to break into the Premier League side this season.
Arsenal fell to a hugely disappointing defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Saturday. The 3-1 scoreline was not indicative of the way the two teams played, with Arsenal dominating from start to finish, but an inspired performance from David de Gea meant the points went home with the visitors.
The defeat has left Arsenal in fifth-place in the league, a point behind Liverpool in fourth. While there are a huge number of games still to play, Arsene Wenger will be hugely disappointed that his side have fallen out of the Champions League places, with their impressive run of form coming to an end on Saturday.
The defeat has seen speculation around potential incomings and outgoings heighten, and there are reports of a player leaving the club in January. Winger-come-striker Theo Walcott has hardly been used this season, making just 10 appearances in all competitions this season, but his future has supposedly been decided by Wenger.
The Arsenal stalwart has been with the club for over 10 years, but it has been reported by The Sun that Walcott will be allowed to leave in January as Wenger looks to accumulate funds for new signings, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil also reportedly on their way out of the club soon.
