The hot topic is about to get even hotter once you read Arsene Wenger’s most recent comments regarding the futures of Arsenal biggest stars Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of his team’s forthcoming clash with Watford this weekend, Gunners boss surprisingly admitted that selling both Ozil and Sanchez in January is possible.
With less than a year in their respective contracts with Arsenal, both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been reluctant to tie themselves to a new deal at the Emirates.
Heading agonizingly close to the end of their deals the two Arsenal stars could leave on free contracts at the end of the running season and Arsene Wenger is finally ready to admit selling them would be a far better option.
“Once you are in our kind of situation, we have envisaged every solution, yes. It’s possible.”, Arsene Wenger responded when asked about whether he would be ready to let his stars go during winter.
Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have both been generating quite an interest from all over Europe.
The likes of Inter Milan, Fenerbahce, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have all been accredited with an interest towards the German midfielder although there were some indications that he could be extending his stay at the Emirates after all.
Alexis Sanchez has been on the radar of Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United, but was inches away from moving to Manchester City on the summer transfer Deadline Day when Wenger pulled the plug on a proposed £60 million deal after failing to land Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco.
The Citizens remain biggest favourites to sign the Chilean international during winter and can be backed at 7/2 betting odds to do so before 4 February 2018.
