Arsene Wenger is reportedly very keen to push on with the transfer of Steven N’Zonzi, with the Sevilla midfielder seen as an ideal buy to strengthen the middle of Arsenal’s team considering that has been where many of their problems have arisen this season.
Arsenal were involved in the game of the weekend as they drew 3-3 with Liverpool at the Emirates. The home side went 2-0 down, only to take a 3-2 lead as they staged a stirring comeback, but they were pegged back as Liverpool scored again to make it 3-3.
When considering Arsenal were dismantled 4-0 by Liverpool in the reverse of this fixture, a 3-3 draw is an improvement, although the fans will be questioning how they let themselves fall two goals behind before then conceding from a winning position.
In their 4-0 loss earlier in the season, Liverpool exposed Arsenal’s weak midfield, and it has been an area that many have cited as a place Wenger must strengthen, and there have been reports that the manager is already looking to do this.
According to the Daily Express, Wenger wants to push on with the transfer of Steven N’Zonzi, with the Sevilla player far more defensively minded, and he might add a solidity to the centre of the team that has been missing in recent games.
