Arsenal star forward Alexis Sanchez is Chelsea’s priority summer signing according to the Guardian. The report claims that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has told the Blues hierarchy which players he hopes to sign in the summer, with the Italian currently in talks over a new contract extension.
Elsewhere, Spanish newspaper Sport claim that German giants Bayern Munich are actually the favourites to nab the Chilean this summer. It is looking increasingly likely the former Barcelona ace will be leaving north London in the near future, as he will have just 12 months left on his Gunners contract in the summer.
Reports suggest that Sanchez will not back down from his demand of £250,000 per week, which would represent a major increase on his current £130,000 a week deal.
Worse for Sanchez to leave for a rival
If as expected Sanchez leaves then it will be a major blow to Arsenal. He is the Gunners best player and he will be hard to replace. The only thing that would make it even worse is if he left for a rival in the Premier League.
Not only would Arsenal be weaker for the loss of the forward, one of the Gunners rivals for the title and top four players will have been strengthened. Chelsea look set to win the Premier League title with relative ease this season. With Sanchez, they would be an even better team and Arsenal will have lost one of their only top players.
Foreign clubs linked with Sanchez
The interest in Sanchez this summer will be absolutely massive. As previously mentioned German giants Bayern Munich are interested in signing the Chilean. The likes of Juventus, Inter and PSG have also been mooted as possible destinations for the star this summer.
Bayern could offer Sanchez the chance domestic titles, as could PSG and Juventus, something he has been deprived of during his time at Arsenal. Bayern could even offer him the chance winning the Champions League, as the Bavarians are always there or thereabouts when it comes to the big European trophy.
Understandable if Sanchez leaves Arsenal
Alexis Sanchez has cut a highly frustrated figure at times this season. The forward seems like he is determined to exit the north London club this summer. His teammates are just not on the same level as Sanchez sometimes.
It is understandable that Sanchez may want to leave and win the big trophies elsewhere. Arsenal fans want the Gunners to win the big trophies, but unfortunately, Arsene Wenger’s team are just not at that level at the moment.
