Arsenal will reportedly listen to offers for midfielder Francis Coquelin in January with fellow Premier League side West Ham interested in signing the player who has fallen down the pecking order with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny all preferred to the Frenchman.
Arsenal’s last Premier League match ended in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea in what was one of the games of the season. There was no shortage of goals, big challenges and controversy, as the sides played out a superb advert for the Premier League.
The Gunners once again face their London-rivals in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday as they look to take an advantage into the second-leg at the Emirates Stadium in the return fixture. Arsenal will need to be on top form to defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, meaning they will need their best players fit and firing.
One man that is unlikely to feature in the game is Francis Coquelin. The midfielder had become an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s side, but the likes of Jack Wilshere, Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny have all moved above him in the pecking order.
Indeed, his situation has come to the point where, according to the Daily Mail, the club will reportedly listen to offers for the player, with West Ham leading the chase. The Hammers supposedly want to add another midfielder to their team, and they see Coquelin as an option.
Perhaps a move away from the Emirates will help the Frenchman, who has seen his career stagnate in recent months.
