Arsenal Transfer Round-Up: Nabil Fekir, Olivier Giorud and Steven N’Zonzi

It’s been another eventful weekend for Arsenal fans as far as transfer rumours are concerned.

Arsene Wenger has already started preparing his winter transfer strategy which – by the looks of it – could include one or two potentially big-name arrivals.

British media have put a new spin on the whole Nabil Fekir story we detailed last week, claiming that Gunners are prepared to invest up to £60 million to land the in-form 24-year-old Lyon playmaker, who is seen as a direct replacement for Mesut Ozil.

The German international is only one of the number of players who could leave Emirates this winter.

Chile star Alexis Sanchez is said to be edging closer to Arsenal exit with Manchester City still in the running for his signature, but his attack partner Olivier Giroud could also be walking through the exit door once the market reopens in January.

The French forward was close to Everton during summer but still decided to remain at Arsenal and fight for his chance. Giroud has thus far used in rotation and mostly in the Europa League and his current status could have him thinking about his future.

“For the moment I am not questioning myself about my future. I am happy at Arsenal and I am fine with the decision to stay because I want to,”, Giroiud told the Independent.

In the meantime, Daily Mirror reports that the North London club are among Premier League clubs who are keeping a close watch on Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi. Former Stoke City and Blackburn anchorman has been quoted discussing a potential return to England saying he ‘loved the Premier League’.

“I really like the Premier League, this is where I started at a good level. I had a great time there.”, N’Zonzi said.

Arsenal return to action next Saturday with a highly-anticipated North London derby against Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium. Gunners can be backed at 13/10 to claim full three points vs Spurs.
