Despite Arsenal being linked with a large number of players, and despite the news that the club has agreed terms with two youngsters, and the chief executive Ivan Gazidis insisting that Arsene Wenger has got money coming out of his ears, the Gunners have so far signed not one single player.
The official announcements for Auxerre’s young striker Yaya Sanogo and the Barcelona academy defender Julio Pleguezuelo have still not been made. They are not really the transfers we want, but they are for the future, but we can’t even seem to wrap up free transfers, never mind the top class players we are hoping for.
The rumour about us triggering the release clause Marouane Fellaini has slunk away, suggesting there was nothing to it in the first place, and if we wanted Christian Benteke we would probably have done something about it by now. All we keep hearing about is Gonzalo Higuain, Stevan Jovetic and Juventus and it keeps going round and round in circles.
I am starting to get worried. Surely it would be better to move quickly in the transfer market, as we did with Lukas Podolski last summer. Wenger and Gazidis have spoken about the competition for players, so why are we waiting? Come on Arsenal, you are killing me!
