Arsenal Set To Bring In Afellay?

Posted on August 27, 2012 by admin

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is sure to bring in reinforcements after the difficulties the Gunners had in the build-up play this season, and according to the media, the midfield section is where the Frenchman is looking to add quality, and if rumours are to be believed Barcelona’s Dutch midfielder Ibrahim Afellay might join the London side.

Afellay’s agent Rob Jansen has admitted the fact that the Dutch starlet has offers coming in from the English Premier League, where Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with a move for him all summer long.

‘I expect Afellay to leave Barcelona on loan before the transfer window closes, Jansen told Dutch TV.

‘Talks are ongoing with several clubs. He has concrete interest from England. But it all depends on Barcelona, though. They decide where their players are going.’

Arsene Wenger’s next signing might be Yann M’Vila if the newspapers are correct, but Ibrahim Afellay is the next in line as the manager is still trying to find the reason why his midfield isn’t providing enough scoring chances for the likes of Podolski and Giroud, who despite having good performances failed to score due to the small amount of changes Arsenal has created.

This is the proof that Wenger still doesn’t know whom he wants to sign or even what Arsenal really need. Wenger is messing Arsenal up . Arsenal need a good manager beore any player

Apart from losing RVP the problem is 433 .. with one or two (usually two) fast, tricky, flakey wingers and the lone sriker isolated down the middle. Plus the fact that we always use the same formation and every team has long since worked out how to play against us.

Except we dont play 433 we play 4231 the same as most teams. what i want wenger to do is really go for it get an outstanding DM a real beast like capoue mvila or even yang-mbwia (who has played there many times) sit him in front of the back 4 in 4132 that way we can buy a couple more strikers as they would get more play. the 3 can be central midfielders or wingers.

Totally agree that should be our standed formation and we should be changing it to adapt to each team we play so we are no longer predictable the lower teams just park the bus knowing they only have to shut down 1 striker. Id take either Mvilla or Capoue also sign Mbwia Jesus Navas or Allefay and if the club want to win trophys Falcao or Llorente would send the fans the right message. Last ive heard we have actually made money after the sales even though we have 3 new players in something like 8mill profit so basically we havent spent this season. Wenger must have a suprise in store for us i think hes saying nothing so bidding wars dont begin on the players hes looking at.

      Thats spot on !!
      Same dam predictable formation !
      Same tactic.
Same subs at exactly 72 min !!!!

And same useless subs like Ramsy !

Even stoke and Sunderland can get points.

Arsene refuses to adapt depending on situation and results.
Loves to waste players on defensive midfield approach and flanks.
One lone striker that is over marked by 2 or 3 players at any time.

100 % right Chris, your points about the same formation and teams having long since worked out how to play against us
so you and i can see the problems but Wenger can,t ,no wo
