The North London club appear to be coming to terms with Alexis Sanchez leaving the club at the end of the season as there are currently no indications that the Chilean superstar is prepared to commit himself to a new contract at Arsenal.
Following months of negotiations, the contract talks have reached an impasse and it is now believed that the two parties will not be returning to the table to discuss Sanchez’s contract situation until the end of the season.
Alexis Sanchez has reportedly asked for weekly wages around £300,000, which would be more than double to his current wages standing at £130,000 a week.
The Chile international has just over a year left in his current deal and is widely expected to walk out on Gunners in the summer, with the likes of Juventus, Sevilla, Bayern Munich and Chelsea all keen to land Sanchez this summer.
Arsenal management has apparently reached a consensus as summer approaches, agreeing to listen to offers for their star man but with their sights set on a £50 million mark, which is the least Gunners are hoping to get for their man.
Alexis Sanchez has in the meantime continued his brilliant form as the Chilean starred for his country during the international break, getting on the scoresheet against Venezuela to equal Chile’s all-time record with iconic striker Marcelo Salas.
Sanchez wonderful free-kick curler took his tally to 37 goals in 108 games for his country.
The Chilean now returns to Arsenal where he will be assessed for fitness and evaluated ahead of the crucial top four race match against Manchester City.
