According to TMW, Arsenal are deadline with the eventuality that playmaker Mesut Ozil will leave the club for next at the end of the season. Ozil had previously stated he would consider extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium, but latest reports suggest otherwise.
The German international has so far failed to agree terms on a new deal, and TMW believe Arsenal are preparing for his departure the following summer as a result. Ozil was being tipped to leave Arsenal ahead of this season but there was no club willing to meet his asking price or match his wage demands.
Inter Milan are believed to be keen on his signature but may only engage in talks once he’s unattached from Arsenal. Ozil has made four Premier League appearances this season, failing to score or make an assist. He scored and created 17 goals in the league last season.
Arsenal are also bracing themselves for the departure of Alexis Sanchez, either in January or for free next summer. The club’s failure to extend the contracts of their star players has come back to haunt Arsenal, and the prospect of Alexis and Ozil leaving the side for free at the end of the season could be catastrophic.
Ozil joined Arsenal for £42.5m in 2013 and looks set to move on at the end of his current deal.
