Mathieu Debuchy of Arsenal is reportedly a transfer target of West Brom, with the Premier League side in desperate need of reinforcements following a torrid start to the season which has seen them languishing in 19th-place in the league after 22 games.
Arsenal’s last league game ended in a draw as a pulsating 2-2 scoreline saw both the Gunners and Chelsea share the spoils. The match itself was littered with moments of magic, goals, big tackles and controversy as the two played out one of the games of the season.
The draw means that Arsenal remain in sixth-place with 39 points, two behind Tottenham in fifth, while they are five behind Liverpool in the final Champions League spot. With Manchester City so far in front, Arsenal will be targetting a return to the Champions League as their main objective, but they have some work to do to chase down the sides above them.
If they are to do this, they may have to delve into the transfer market to bring in some fresh faces, which might see a number of players leave the club to make way for this. Indeed, West Brom are reportedly interested in moving for French-defender Mathieu Debuchy.
L’Equipe have reported that the 32-year-old is wanted by the Baggies who are in desperate need of reinforcements. The versatile defender has made just 13 league appearances since joining Arsenal from Newcastle in 2014, and a move to West Brom would bring an end to a hugely disappointing chapter in his career.
