The Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla has this week shared some bad news with his fans, confirming that he will need another intervention to his Achilles injury.
The Gunners star has endured torrid time over the past year which saw him go under the knife nine times. The experienced Spanish international was forced to push the return date even further with the latest update on his fitness status and Arsenal are said to be beginning to lose faith.
Cazorla’s contract is set to expire next summer and Gunners appear to have already started looking for a replacement.
According to reports coming from the Italian media outlet CalcioMercato, Arsenal are on the verge of signing Udinese star Jakub Jankto.
The 21-year-old midfielder is also a target for Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan but Gunners appear to have jumped the line and got themselves in the front row for Jankto’s signature.
Jankto is one of the highest-rated youngsters playing in Italy right now valued at €30 million by his club Udinese.
He has been widely tipped to join the Serie A champions Juventus, but the latest reports claim that the Turin heavyweights are unwilling to invest the aforementioned amount, whereas AC Milan are pursuing other options after a heavy-spending summer.
The Czech Republic starlet is a versatile midfielder who is often deployed in a deep-lying position. Jankto is strong on the ball and fits well into the heart of midfield which is exactly where he would be fitted at Emirates.
Jakub Jankto scored two goals in all competitions this season.
