Arsenal face stiff competition to sign Dylan Asonganyi

Posted on September 28, 2017 by Milos Markovic

Arsene Wenger’s reputation of a football manager who pays great deal of attention to young and talented footballers gives us no reason to be surprised over the reports linking Gunners with MK Dons starlet Dylan Asongangyi.

The 16-year-old forward is the shiny pearl of MK Dons’ Under-18 side who’s been having a blistering start to the 2017/18 campaign.

Asonganyi scored nine goals in seven games for his team and his imposing goalscoring record has caught the attention of the Premier League’s biggest clubs – Arsenal included.

The Mirror reports that the likes of Liverpool, West Ham and Manchester United have all been alerted by the teenager’s displays this season which also put MK Dons on red alert.

Robbie Neilson is reportedly prepared to promote the 16-year-old striker to the first team hoping it would help him keep interesting parties at bay.

MK Dons have been patiently guiding Asonganyi through youth ranks but the teenage sensation is set to be fast tracked into the senior squad. The Dons are determined to keep hold of the England youth international for as long as possible and are could offer him a chance to make his competitive League One debut in the coming weeks.

Asonganyi turns 17 in December and he has also been excelling for the England national team as well.

The 16-year-old went through the England’s youth ranks having first taken part in the Under-16s’ training camp at a delicate age of 13.

Dylan Asognanyi is just the last in line of the talented players from the League One side to have caught the eye of the Premier League rivals. Tottenham and England star Dele Alli joined Tottenham from the Buskinghamshire club for £5 million back in 2015.

It seems that Dylan Asonganyi has all it takes to follow in Alli’s footsteps and should be expected to make a Premier League switch anytime in the near future.

Will Gunners be able to beat the opposition to his signature, however?
