Some encouraging transfer reports are coming from Turkey in relation to Arsenal’s long-term target Arda Turan.
The Turkish playmaker is reportedly set to be offloaded by Barcelona in what is expected to be a summer overhaul at the Spanish club and the Gunners are prepared to take advantage of such a development.
The Catalans have been kicked out of the Champions League quarterfinals at the hands of Juventus and are heading toward what is likely to become a rather disappointing closure to the season.
With their La Liga title chase as good as over despite only three-point deficit behind leaders Real Madrid, Barcelona are preparing for a busy summer which will see a couple of fringe players being shown the exit door at Camp Nou.
Arda Turan has made only 17 La Liga appearances this season, only four of which were starts and Arsenal are prepared to pounce for their long-term target with a £25 million bid, according to CNN Turk.
Barcelona are reportedly ready to accept Arsenal’s offer and let the midfielder go at the end of the season.
Turan is regarded as a possible replacement for Mesut Ozil, who is yet to agree on a transfer extension with the Premier League outfit. The German international is believed to be stalling on a new deal – together with Alexis Sanchez – and could end up leaving the Emirates club, should Gunners fail to secure a Champions League berth.
Both Ozil and Sanchez are under contracts which run until 2018 and are both linked with a possible summer move to Paris Saint Germain.
