Alexis Sanchez’s pre-season has been delayed by the fact that he had to wait for a new visa, according to the Daily Telegraph. The Chilean international was stuck in Paris on Monday, (not a bad place to be stuck really) waiting for his new visa to be processed.
The Chilean has been allowed an extended break after he helped his national side win the Copa America on home soil. The 26-year-old scored the winning penalty in the final of the competition against Argentina.
Sanchez was due to be back at the Gunners training ground at Colney on Monday, but instead will arrive back on Wednesday and start his pre-season. He has already been ruled out of the West Ham game and most players take three weeks to get fully match fit.
However, Sanchez is ultra-fit and could be back sooner than that. The forward is regarded as one of the Gunners most important players and is odds of 10/1 to win the PFA Player of the Year, which makes him third favourite behind Sergio Aguero and Eden Hazard for the award.
Alexis Sanchez is a fantastic player and the sooner he is back in an Arsenal shirt the better. He enjoyed a good season in his debut campaign. Hopefully he can have an even better one in his second season as an Arsenal player.
Can Alexis Sanchez improve on last seasons form?
