Arsene Wenger will reportedly let Alexis Sanchez leave Arsenal if he can sign Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez as his replacement, with the manager desperate to bring in a world-class replacement for the Chilean forward.
Arsenal’s last Premier League game ended in thrilling 2-2 draw as they shared the points with Chelsea. There were a number of incredible goals along with some contentious decision as the two London teams played out one of the games of the season.
While it was an incredibly exciting game, it saw Arsenal drop two more points. The Gunners are now two points short of Tottenham in fifth, while they are five behind Liverpool in the final Champions League place.
It is clear that Arsenal need something to change if they are to bring their inconsistent run to an end and perhaps they may achieve this by delving into the transfer market. Indeed, it has been reported by the Sunday Mirror that Arsene Wenger will let Alexis Sanchez go to Manchester City if he can attract Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez to the club.
At this stage of the season, Wenger will not want to gamble on bringing in a winger that has not ever played in the Premier League, while Mahrez did submit a transfer request in the summer. Perhaps offloading Sanchez before his contract ends and bringing in Mahrez will be the best outcome for all those involved.
