Is Aaron Ramsey set to return to top form?

Posted on October 23, 2017 by David Nugent

Aaron Ramsey seems to cause mixed opinions amongst Arsenal fans. For Wales, he seems to be a star player and vital to the Dragons fortunes. At Arsenal though, he has flattered to deceive at times and inconsistency has plagued his career.

However, of late Ramsey has upped his game for the north London side. In Sunday’s 5-2 win at Everton, the Welsh midfielder contributed a goal and an assist. Ramsey has now scored twice and provided three assists in eight appearances for the Gunners this season.

Has shown his talent in flashes

Ramsey has shown flashes of his talent in an Arsenal shirt. No doubt on his day he can be a key player for the Gunners. His work ethic and ability to get in the box to contribute are fantastic for Arsenal to have in their armoury.

He is an intelligent player that is often on the same wavelength as the players in his team. His best performances seem to be when his teammates have their tails up and are playing well. Ramsey is definitely a confidence player and tends to score goals in bunches.

Needs to find consistency

During the midfielders Arsenal career, he has struggled for consistency. Apart from a half season when he scored over a dozen goals in half a season, Ramsey has failed to produce on a regular basis for the Gunners.

If the Welshman can find any sort of consistency to his game then he could be a vital player for Arsenal in the next couple of years. He has been unlucky with injuries though, as they may have hampered his development in recent years.

Staying fit and injury free could be the key to Ramsey fulfilling his potential in north London. He has stayed injury-free so far this season and hopefully, he can play a full part in the campaign.

Time to step up

Aaron Ramsey could become a very important player for Arsenal in the next couple of seasons. Attacking midfielders like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will be gone in January or next summer, so Ramsey needs to step up his game if he wants to be a permanent fixture in an attacking midfield role.

Ramsey has started this season in decent form and hopefully, he can continue to improve for the rest of the campaign. He has shown he can be an influential player and the Gunners need more of that sort of form from the Welsh midfielder.
